2 Chestnut Bed and Breakfast

2 Chestnut Bed and Breakfast is located one block from Main Street in Cooperstown, New York. The house was built in 1868 by a prominent physician named Dr. Horace Lathrop. The 17 room mansion has been flawlessly preserved in its original French Second Empire design. The three store home has a metal mansard roof, a central winding staircase, four fireplaces, and the original tin ceiling downstairs. The original floors have been restored on the first floor and the twelve foot ceilings and large windows give a light and airy feeling to the living areas. Guests relax on our large porch in a lush garden setting. Across the street sparkles Otsego Lake, the “Glimmerglass” in James Fenimore Cooper’s novels. It is an easy walk from 2 Chestnut B&B to Main Street, the Baseball Hall of Fame, and all other attractions in the village.
